El Sobrante Gurudwara is the origination of Sikh Health Network initiative. The first free clinic was started here on August 2021. Free Health Clinic is hosted here every 1st Sunday of the month where patients get to their vitals checked and get a free consult with the physician. Each open clinic see's almost 40 patients each Sunday. It actively serves 150+ patients (new and returning).
Our Story
Sikh Health Network, or SHN, began with two high school students in Campolindo High and Miramonte High in Northern California who were exploring ways to help their community when the world and their local communities were all struggling to fight against the pandemic of COVID-19. More than ever, this was an opportunity to think out of the box on ways to help educate people, provide health consultation easily, regularly and effectively. We believe people feel the most comfortable in accepting these benefits when it comes from people like them in their local community.
El Sobrante Gurudwara Sahib was the first place where they started visiting on 1st Sunday of each month to setup a free clinic and educational seminar. They registered doctors to donate their time to this clinic and summoned volunteers to help conduct the free clinic.
Today we have over 150+ patients that are registered in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System that is HIPAA complaint to receive free health consults at the El Sobrante Gurudwara Sahib.
